Katheren Sink

Katheren Sink, age 92, died Thursday, April 12, 2012 in Clayton, New Mexico.

Funeral Services were held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, April 17 2012 at the First United Methodist Church in Clayton with Terrell Jones, pastor of the Trinity Fellowship Church in Clayton, officiating. Burial followed in the Grenville Cemetery in Grenville, New Mexico by Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton.

Katheren Sink was born on June 20, 1919 in Sofia, New Mexico to Bryan Clason and Cloe (Oliver) Clason. She married Chester Levon “Tunk” Sink on April 29, 1937, in Raton, NM and he preceded her in death on February 21, 1978. A lifelong resident of Union County, New Mexico, Katheren was born at Sofia and attended schools in Sofia and Grenville. After her marriage to Tunk Sink in 1937 they lived and ranched in the sofia area until 1970 when they moved into Grenville. Katheren worked for 20 years at LaMesa Park Race Track in Raton, NM, and was Postmaster in Grenville from 1977 until she retired in 1998. She was a member of the Methodist Church. In addition to her parents and husband, Katheren was preceded in death by 2 brothers; Earnest Clason and Bryan Clason, Jr. And 1 sister; Ruby Savell.

 

SURVIVORS:

2 Daughters: Mignon Saddoris and her husband James of Grenville, New Mexico and Gwendolyn Wingo of Des Moines, New Mexico.

3 Sons: Robert Sink of Clayton, New Mexico, Bill Sink and his wife Sandy of Grenville, New Mexico and Roger Sink of Portales, New Mexico.

11 Grandchildren: Levon Sink, Michelle Jones, Doug Sink, Shane Sink, Dusty Bridges, Carl Wingo, Robert Wingo, Burl Wingo, Wesley Saddoris, Ashlea Sink and Chance Sink.

13 Great-Grandchildren, 1 Great-Great-Granddaughter

and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
