Gayleen Perkins Gayleen Perkins
(October 5, 1955 - November 27, 2005)

Freda Gayleen Perkins, the daughter of Fred and Donna Gay (Sappenfield) Ottinger, was born October 5, 1955, in Boise City, Oklahoma. She departed this life for Heaven on November 27, 2005, in Boise City, Oklahoma, at the age of 50 years.

Freda Gayleen was better known to most as Gayleen. She was born and raised in Boise City, Oklahoma. Gayleen attended and graduated from the Boise City High School, in 1973. After high school, Gayleen attended the Panhandle State University, in Goodwell, Oklahoma, for two years. After two years, Gayleen transferred to West Texas University, in Canyon, Texas, this is where she received her degree in music. After Gayleen graduated from college, she taught music for several years, in the Clayton Public School System, in Clayton, New Mexico. Gayleen continued furthering her education and received her master’s degree in elementary education. Gayleen also worked at the Clayton Post Office, the Clayton Baptist church as secretary, as presently working as secretary for the Magistrate Office, all of Clayton, New Mexico.

Freda Gayleen Ottinger, was united in marriage to James Keith Perkins, on April 12, 1979, at the First Baptist Church, Boise City, Oklahoma. To this union three children were born, Tera LaRynn, Danae Rachelle, and Tanner James.

Gayleen and James both enjoyed music and working as co-music directors at the Clayton Baptist Church. Gayleen enjoyed playing the organ and piano and loved reading.

She was a member of the Clayton Baptist Church, Clayton, New Mexico, and a Member of the PEO sisters Club.

James and Gayleen went to be with the Lord together on Sunday November 27, 2005, after a car accident.

Survivors include: her children, Tera La Rynn Perkins, Flower Mound, Texas, Danae Rachelle Perkins, North Africa, and Tanner James Perkins, Amarillo, Texas, her parents Fred and Donna Gay (Sappenfield) Ottinger, of Boise City, Oklahoma, one brother, James Clark Ottinger and wife Kathy, Tulsa, Oklahoma, one sister, Londa Leigh Reif and husband Mark, Clayton, New Mexico, nieces and nephews, Marlon, Shaleigh, Grace, Josiah, Rebekah, Joel, Esther, and Lydia Reif, Clayton, New Mexico, and Brad Ikard and wife Clair, Roundrock, Texas, Rodney Ikard, Yukon, Oklahoma, aunts and uncles, , sister-in-law, Charlene Ikard and husband, Charles, Kingfisher, Oklahoma, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Viewing was held Wednesday, November 30, 2005 at Hass Funeral Home, in Clayton, New Mexico from 5:00pm to 9:00pm (Mountain Time), and on Thursday, December 1, 2005 at the Cimarron Mortuary, in Boise City, Oklahoma from 10:00am to 6:00pm. Funeral services were held Friday, December 2, 2005 at 10:30am (Central Time) at the First Baptist Church, Boise City, Oklahoma with Brian Long and Jerry Rice, officiating. Interment was Friday, December 2, 2005 at 3:00pm (Mountain Time) at the Clayton Memorial Cemetery, Clayton, New Mexico.
