Video Tribute

Funeral services were held at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, December 30, 2010 at the First Baptist Church in Clayton with Rev. Phil Herndon and Rev. Billy Rammage officiating. Private Burial followed in the Clayton Memorial Cemetery by Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton, New Mexico.

Bill Cyphers was born on March 25, 1925, in Elk City, Oklahoma, to William David Cyphers and Emma Mae (Cofer) Cyphers. A lifelong resident of Union County, Bill served in the US Navy during WWII and was a member of the First Baptist Church, serving as a Deacon at the First Baptist Church in Sedan and as an adult Sunday school teacher at Sedan and Clayton. He married Doris A. (Fudge) Cyphers on September 5, 1946, in Clayton, New Mexico and she preceded him in death on July 22, 2009. Bill was passionate about the bible and teaching the word of God. In addition to his wife and parents, Bill was preceded in death by 1 sister; Jesse Mae Cyphers, 2 brothers; Buford Cyphers and Harry Cyphers, a granddaughter; Alison Nicole Hitchings and 2 sons-in-law; George Poling and Herb Hitchings.

SURVIVORS:

4 DAUGHTERS: Patsy Poling of Clayton, NM; Judy Little and her husband Lonnie of Dalhart, Texas; Vicky English and her husband Mike of Granbury, Texas; and Sheila Herndon and her husband Phil of Murfeesboro, Tennessee.

1 SON: Douglas Cyphers of Amarillo, Texas.

7 GRANDCHILDREN: Todd Poling, Trent Poling, Audra Crisp, Deadra Goodnight, Holly Holiski, Kelby Crist and Luke Herndon.

14 GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN: Tucker, Preslie, Bo, Levi, Dustin, Triton and Alison Poling; Ross and Rhett Phillips; Connor and Hallie Holiski; Taylor and Sadie Crist and Monty Crisp.
