Bill Stone, age 70, died Friday, June 28, 2013 in Amarillo, Texas.
Funeral services were held at 11:00 A. M. on Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at the Texline Church of Christ in Texline, Texas with Mark Battegier, pastor officiating. Burial followed in the Texline Cemetery by Hass Funeral Home of Clayton, New Mexico.
Bill Stone was born on February 19, 1943 in Conlen, Texas to Ural George Stone and Bess (Wells) Stone. He grew up in Stratford, Texas and then joined the U. S. Army where he served for 3 years working in the post office while stationed in Germany. Bill married Wanda (Nichola) Stone on May 22, 1965 in Clayton, New Mexico and he attended college at West Texas A&M University. He owned a gas station in Amarillo before moving to Stratford where he worked for E. R. Bell at Sherman Implements. They later moved to Texline where Bill was the Manager of the John Deere service center and later he was manager and part owner of A&I Parts in Texline. Bill served as Mayor of Texline and also served on the City Council. He was an elder at the Texline Church of Christ and was very involved in the Lions Club. Bill loved people and is survived by many friends. In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by a brother; George Stone.

3 SONS: Billy Norval Stone, Jr and his wife Annisa of Longmont, Colorado, Cal Duane Stone and his wife Shawn of Edmond, Oklahoma and Dr. Donald Stone and his wife Heather of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
6 GRANDCHILDREN: Chandon Stone, Drisana Stone, Mark Stone, Sarah Stone, Michael Stone and Samantha Stone.
3 SISTERS: Martha Mitts and her husband Melvin, Clara Updegrave and Louise Dettle all of Stratford, Texas.
1 BROTHER: Don Stone and his wife Carol of Beaumont, Texas.
