Funeral services were held at 11:00 AM Central Time on Saturday, May 10, 2014 at the Texline Church of Christ. Burial followed in the Texline Cemetery by Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton, New Mexico.

Bobby Joe Browning was born on June 7, 1932 in Hobbs, New Mexico to E. C. Browning and Della Mae (Shirtley) Browning. The family later moved to Fluvanna, Texas. Bobby Joe graduated from Texas Tech with a Bachelors degree in Vocational Agriculture. He joined the US Army and served during the Korean War. Bobby Joe taught Agriculture in Weinert, Texas for two years and then in Texline, Texas for 33 years. He loved training agriculture teams for competition and enjoyed his students. He would hear someone complain about a student and he would smile and say "Oh, they'll grow up, they all do".

WIFE: Linda Chasteen Browning of Texline, Texas.

2 DAUGHTERS: Angela Cunningham of Amarillo, Texas and Brenda Lambert and her husband Tom of Roland, Iowa.

1 SON: Robert Browning and his wife Stacey of Boerne, Texas.

9 GRANDCHILDREN: Rachel Cunningham of Amarillo, Texas, Jason Cunningham of Houston, Texas, Macie Browning, Holley Browning, Scott Browning, Allison Browning and Brandon Browning all of Boerne, Texas, Tyler Lambert and Cade Lambert both of Roland, Iowa.

1 BROTHER: Vernon Browning and his wife Sandra of Snyder, Texas.

2 BROTHERS-IN-LAW: Steve Chasteen and his wife Nancy of Gilmer, Texas and Tony Chasteen and his wife Cathy of Granbury, Texas.

1 Nephew: Doyle Browning of Seymour, Texas.

1 Niece: Donna Browning of Snyder, Texas.

MEMORIALS: In Lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to the Bobby Joe Browning Vocational Agriculture Memorial Scholarship fund in care of the Happy State Bank in Texline.
