Buddy Wayne Smart, age 83, died Sunday, November 19, 2017, in Clayton, New Mexico.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at the Clayton Memorial Cemetery in Clayton, New Mexico. Arrangements are under the direction of Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton.

Buddy Wayne Smart was born on December 20, 1933 in Clayton, New Mexico to William Silas Smart and Florence Irene (Rickett) Smart. Buddy worked for most of his life cleaning yards for people and helping on ranches and he washed dishes at the truck stop restaurant. In addition to his parents, Buddy was preceded in death by his sister; Betty June Hancock, his brother-in-law; Burnett Taft Hancock and by a niece and nephew as infants, Robert Boyd Hancock and Glorya Suzan Hancock.

1 NEPHEW: Richard Hancock of Moriarty, New Mexico.

3 GREAT-NIECES: Jeanette Donald and her husband Michael of San Antonio, Texas, Becky May of Boise City, Oklahoma and Frances Ottinger and her husband Kevin of Dumas, Texas.
