Charlie Brown, age 83, died Saturday, May 21, 2016 in Amarillo, Texas.

Graveside services were held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at the Clayton Memorial Cemetery in Clayton, New Mexico. Arrangements are under the direction of Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton.

Charlie Brown was born on May 23, 1932 in Clayton, New Mexico to Roy Melvin Brown and Eden Grace (Polson) Brown. Charlie served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War and was stationed in Japan. After returning from the Air Force, Charlie worked as a Police Officer in Clayton for a few years. He also farmed in the Felt, Oklahoma area until he sold the farm and moved to Dalhart. He started driving a truck transporting mobile homes and lived and worked in Childress, Fort Worth and Farmington before he retired and returned to Clayton where he went to work for Dutch Doitchinoff and later for Jacque Neuharth and Charlie West.

SURVIVORS:

1 DAUGHTER: Glenda Kay Farnden and her husband Bryan of Grande Prairie, Alberta Canada.

2 SONS: Cameron Brown of Dalhart, Texas and Colby Brown and his wife Jennie Grand Island, Nebraska.

1 SISTER: Jeanine Chelf of Salida, Colorado.

5 Grandchildren and 6 Great-Grandchildren.
