Dessie Jeanette (Clark) Carter age 81, died Wednesday, August 10, 2011, at her home.
Funeral Services were held at 11:00 AM Central Time on Friday, August 12th 2011 at the First Baptist Church in Texline, Texas with Rev. Billy Rammage, Pastor of the First Baptist Church in Clayton, New Mexico officiating. Burial followed in the Texline Cemetery by Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton, New Mexico.
Dessie Jeanette (Clark) Carter was born on August 3, 1930 in Kim, Colorado to Daniel Houston Clark and Rose Zella (McCarty) Clark. She graduated from Kim High School in 1949. Dessie married Gerald Carter on April 16, 1950 at her parents home in Kim, Colorado. They spent eight years at Guymon, Oklahoma and then moved to Dalhart, Texas where they bought a farm/ranch. Dessie was always active in the Baptist Church of Dalhart and Texline and was baptized in 1961. She was always ready and willing to help with community projects. In addition to her parents and husband, Dessie was preceded in death by four sisters and three brothers.

3 GRANDCHILDREN: Nicole Higgs and her husband Bryan of White Deer, Texas, Alicia Smith and her husband Chris of Texline, Texas and Eric Carter of Borger, Texas.
7 GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN: Danielle Higgs, Alyssa Higgs, Dale Higgs and Kaitlyn Higgs all of White Deer, Texas, Chloe Smith and Jackson Smith both of Texline, Texas and Savannah Carter of Borger, Texas.
