Dora Garcia, age 85, died Sunday, May 29, 2011, in Amarillo, Texas.

Funeral Services were held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at the Clayton Gospel Church with Pastor Mike Phipps officiating. Burial followed in the Clayton Memorial Cemetery by Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton.

Dora Garcia was born on March 25, 1926 in Atencio, New Mexico to Louis Rodriguez and Bessie (Dominguez) Rodriguez. She attended school in Clayton and later earned her GED as an adult. Dora married Ferdinand Garcia on October 3, 1964 in Clayton, New Mexico. She worked for several years at the Eastern Plains Community Action Agency and worked with Ferdinand for several years at the drug store. The last several years, Dora has devoted herself to volunteer work at the Thrift Store in Clayton and with many other organizations. In addition to her parents, Dora was preceded in death by 2 sisters; Josephine Rodriguez and Magdalena Pacheco, 1 son; Frank Johnny Jaramillo and 2 grandchildren; Denise Jaramillo and Edwin Jaramillo.

HUSBAND: Ferdinand Garcia of Clayton, New Mexico.

1 SON: Richard Jaramillo and his wife Mary of Clayton, New Mexico.

2 DAUGHTERS: Connie Garcia of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Susan Pearson of Dalhart, Texas.

1 STEP-DAUGHTER: Corine Smith and her husband Wayne of Clayton, New Mexico.

1 NEPHEW: Ernest Pacheco and his wife Julia of Albuquerque, New Mexico.
