Dorothy Jean (Norvell) Howard, age 82, died Friday, May 30, 2014, in Clayton, New Mexico.

Graveside services were held at 11:00 A.M. Central Time on Tuesday, June 3 at the Texline Cemetery in Texline, Texas with Dr. Rev. Alberta Helton pastor of the Reydon Community Church in Reydon, Oklahoma, officiating. Services were under the direction of Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton, New Mexico.

Dorothy Jean (Norvell) Howard was born on June 12, 1931 in Floydada, Texas to James Thomas Henry Norvell and Tinnie Purcella (Rape) Norvell. She married Melvin Daniel Howard on October 24, 1948 in Abernathy, Texas and he preceded her in death on December 25, 2008. They lived in Olton, Texas, Plainview, Texas, Floydada, Texas, Hereford, Texas, Fort Sumner, New Mexico and in Sedan, New Mexico since 1970. In addition to her parents and husband, Dorothy was preceded in death by 1 grandson, Travis Manns.

3 GRANDCHILDREN: Edee Davis of Stephenville, Texas, Hunter Howard of Amarillo, Texas and Zachary Howard of Geneva, Alabama.

1 GREAT-GRANDDAUGHTER: Arminda Manns of Waterloo, New York.
