Edward Goats, age 91, died on Thursday, July 7, 2011 in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Funeral Services were held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, July 9, 2011 at the Amistad United Methodist Church in Amistad, New Mexico with Rev. Jay Jones, pastor officiating. Burial followed in the Clayton Memorial Cemetery by Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton, New Mexico.

Edward Goats was born on December 3, 1919 in Amarillo, Texas to Henry Lee Goats and Mary Louise (Whitsett) Goats. He graduated from Mosquero High School and then from the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, New Mexico with a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration. A lifelong resident of the Union County and Harding County area, Edward owned and operated the Ford Motor Company in Clayton for many years and ranched most of his life. Edward married Charlene M. (Pusey) Goats on November 2, 1972 in Clayton and she preceded him in death on November 3, 2008. He was a member of the Amistad United Methodist Church. In addition to his wife and paretns, Edward was preceded in death by 4 sisters; Susie Giles, Gladys Murphy, Elizabeth Tompkins and Helen Shollenbarger and 2 brothers; Henry Lee Goats and Calvin Goats.

1 DAUGHTER: Lori Alice Krehbiel of Albuquerque, New Mexico.

1 SON: Kenneth H. Bair, III and his wife Kelli of Albuquerque, New Mexico.

6 GRANDCHILDREN: Leah Barnett, Chance Barnett, Robert Lyon, Kenneth H. "Hank" Bair, IV, Reed Bair and Cameron Brock.

1 SISTER: Louise Axe of Amarillo, Texas.

And numerous nieces and nephews.
