Emma Cardenas, age 89, died on Tuesday, May 9, 2023, in Clayton, New Mexico.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, June 3, 2023, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness in Clayton, New Mexico.

Emma Cardenas was born on August 29, 1933, in Moses, New Mexico to Antonio Valdez and Maria (Martinez) Valdez. A lifetime resident of Clayton, New Mexico, Emma was a member of the congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses in Clayton. Emma married Nash Cardenas on August 17, 1952, in Clayton, New Mexico and he preceded her in death on April 27, 2015. She worked for Alsup Law Office for 36 years. In addition to her husband and parents, Emma was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Nick Valdez and Raymond Valdez and by 2 sisters, Lena Jimenez and Addie Sturbis.

SURVIVORS:

1 DAUGHTER: Anna Torres and her husband Jose of Clayton, New Mexico.

2 SONS: Robert Cardenas and his wife Rose of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Timothy Cardenas and his wife Stephanie of Rio Rancho, New Mexico.

Grandchildren: Christopher, Sam, Andrea, Kylah and Yanika.

Great-Grandchildren: Venessa, Sean, Marcos, Marisol and Eric.

Great-Great-Grandchildren: Gabriel and Emilio and two on the way.

1 SISTER: Sally Sanchez and her husband Renaldo of Clayton, New Mexico.

1 BROTHER: Tony Valdez, Jr. of Arizona.
