Emma Maria Sandoval, age 82, died Saturday, November 20, 2010 in Clayton, New Mexico.
Rosary was recited at 7:00 P.M. on Monday, November 22, and Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, November 23, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Clayton, New Mexico. Father Glenn Jones was the Celebrant. Burial followed in the Clayton Memorial Cemetery by Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton.
Emma Maria Sandoval was born on November 24, 1927 in Sofia, New Mexico to Antonio Salaz and Nieves (Vigil) Salaz. Emma worked for many years at the nursing home in Clayton as a nurses aide and later moved to Dalhart, Texas where she worked at the cleaners for several years. She married Ernest Sandoval and they were together for 36 years. In addition to her parents, Emma was preceded in death by her first husband Manuel F. "Rosebud" Naranjo in 1969, 5 sisters; Mary Lansford in 1967, Lilia Salaz in 1984, Semonita Marquez in 1990, Victoria Padilla in 1997 and Christina Martinez in 2000 and 1 brother; Reuben Salaz in 1971.
SURVIVORS:
1 SON: Tony Naranjo and his wife Frances of Clayton, New Mexico.
2 GRANDSONS: Anthony Naranjo and his wife Andrea of Clayton, New Mexico and Patrick Naranjo and his wife Janae of Monta Vista, Colorado.
4 GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN: Jacob Naranjo, Logan Naranjo and Andre Naranjo all of Clayton, New Mexico and Durae Naranjo of Monta Vista, Colorado.
And Many Nieces and Nephews including Lily Rose Archuleta of Albuquerque, New Mexico who was raised as a sister with Emma.
