Finis Elmer Roberts, Jr. passed away on Tuesday, April 16, 2019 in Raton, NM.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, May 6, 2019 at the Clayton Memorial Cemetery in Clayton, New Mexico.

Finis was born to Finis Roberts and Lucille Isaacs Roberts on June 22, 1930. In 1947, at a party at Clayton First Baptist Church, he met and fell in love with Nadine Shaha. They were not only husband and wife but were best friends. Finis attended Highlands University in Las Vegas, NM. They were married on June 18, 1950 on her family farm in Sedan, NM. The marriage lasted 62 years and produced 4 children. Surviving Finis are his 4 children Patricia Beagles (husband DeWayne), Sharon Kott (husband Rodney), Jackie Stulc and Daniel Roberts (wife Charee), 6 grandchildren, 5 great children, his sister Jane Robinson, his Aunt Bess Isaacs, numerous cousins and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, a granddaughter and his wife Nadine.
Finis was a New Mexico State Policeman for 27 years and retired as a lieutenant in 1986. He was a very active member of Masons and Eastern Star serving as a Past Grand Patron. Finis sang tenor in the Springer First Baptist Church choir and was a team roper. Finis and Nadine sang in the community choir. He enjoyed bird hunting and working with wood. He was, also, Assistant County Coroner.
