Floyd Wayne Mosier, age 74, passed away at his home in Clayton, New Mexico on Friday, May 22, 2026.
Graveside Services will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at 12:00 PM (Noon) Mountain Time at the Mosier Cemetery by his home at 2081 Texline Highway, Clayton, New Mexico. With Travis Bennett officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton, New Mexico.
In Lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Floyd Mosier Memorial Fund at the Bank of Clayton.
Floyd Wayne Mosier was born on May 14, 1952, in Springer, New Mexico to Floyd Wesley Mosier and Frances Louise (Castillo) Mosier. He grew up in Springer and Cimarron and graduated from Springer High School. He then attended Trinidad Junior College where he played basketball. Floyd met Janet at the old Road Runner Hotel and Bar in Clayton, and they were later married on February 12, 1977, in Amarillo, Texas. They lived in Dalhart for a few years and Floyd went to work for R and R Machine in 1976 as one of the original employees. They later moved to Clayton where they made their home. Floyd was a Jack of all trades and a master of none. He was a machinist, a welder, a silver smith, an artist and was certified in Equine Dentist. Floyd enjoyed team roping, hunting, guiding and shooting. He was a wildcatter, he enjoyed improving on many calibers and creating new calibers. He hunted and guided hunters for fifty years. Floyd was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd Wesley Mosier on October 11, 1989 and Frances Louise (Castillo) Mosier on August 13, 1962, by two sisters, Nancy Floyden (Mosier) Naranjo on September 5, 2008 and Lynda (Mosier) Poling on March 21, 2025.

1 Son: Justin Mosier and his wife Ashley of Rosemount, Minnesota.
1 GRANDDAUGHTER: Hayden Mosier of Rosemount, Minnesota.
1 HALF-BROTHER: Billy Max Krause of Amarillo, Texas.
Several nieces, nephews and friends and his two dogs: Pico and Nico.
