Grace Garrett, age 86, died on Tuesday, September 20, 2022, at her home in Raton, New Mexico.

Rosary will be recited at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, September 28, 2022, at St. Patrick-St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Raton, New Mexico and Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:30 with Fr. Bill Woyatvich as celebrant. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Raton, New Mexico by Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton, New Mexico.

Grace Garrett was born on March 12, 1936, in Maxwell, New Mexico to Frank Allen Wheeler and Rosie Ann (Rivali) Wheeler. She married William L. Garrett, the love of her life and he preceded her in death on May 24, 2006. Grace liked bingo, the casinos, horse racing and fishing. She loved all of her grandkids, great-grandkids and her horses. Grace had a heart of gold and would help anyone that needed anything. She will be greatly missed by all of her family and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, Grace was preceded in death by 1 daughter, Barbara Jean Wheeler, a son, Jerry R. Wheeler, 2 grandsons, Joseph Wheeler and Robert Wheeler, a sister, Mary Wheeler, 4 brothers, Ernie Wheeler, Frank Wheeler, Billy Wheeler and Jody Wheeler and by a brother-in-law, Phil Garrett.

SURVIVORS:

3 DAUGHTERS: Charlene Valdez and her husband David, Rosalie Bernal and her husband Sam and Edith Garrett all of Raton, New Mexico.

3 SONS: Frank Wheeler of Dalhart, Texas, Joe Wheeler of Las Cruces, New Mexico and Pat Garrett and his girlfriend Any Atwater of Raton, New Mexico.

12 Grandchildren, 12 Great-Grandchildren and 1 Great-Great-Grandchild.

2 SISTERS: Linda Parry and her husband Ross of Dalhart, Texas and Lucille Wheeler of Guymon, Oklahoma.

3 BROTHERS: Ralph Wheeler of Las Vegas, Nevada, Richard Wheeler and his wife Virginia of Dalhart, Texas and Ray Wheeler and his wife Imelda of Houston, Texas.

And numerous, nieces, nephews and cousins.
