Inez M. Romero, age 81, died on Sunday December 27, 2020 in Amarillo, Texas.

Rosary will be recited at 7:00 PM on Sunday, January 3, 2021 and Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Monday, January 4, 2021 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Clayton, New Mexico with Fr. Jason Pettigrew as celebrant. Burial will follow in the Clayton Memorial Cemetery by Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton, New Mexico.

Inez (Valdez) Romero was born on December 9, 1939 in Clayton, New Mexico to Pula Frank Valdez and Petra "Betty" (Fernandez) Valdez. A lifelong resident of Clayton, New Mexico, Inez worked for the Clayton Public Schools in the cafeteria for several years before retiring. Inez enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking, baking and playing bingo, and recently she enjoyed connecting with others on facebook. Inez was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Clayton. She was preceded in death by her husband, Andres "PeeWee" Romero, a son; Frankie Joe Romero and her parents; Pula and Petra Valdez.

4 DAUGHTERS: Debra Thelander and her husband Damon, Pam Jordan and her husband Charles and Andrea Naranjo and her husband Anthony all of Clayton, New Mexico and Tina Farley and her husband Rich of Las Cruces, New Mexico.

2 SONS: Charles Romero and his wife Elma of Clayton, New Mexico and Ricky Romero and his wife Roberta of Roswell, New Mexico.

15 Grandchildren: Jennifer Romero, Charlie Romero (Lavette), Lydia Kimber, Richard Villalobos, Tiffany Holcomb, Michelle Villalobos (Tyler Karr), Ashley Romero (Brenda Nevarez), Leslie Romero (Alonso Banueles), Ricky Romero (Karina Rodriguez), Chelsie Thelander, Brittany Thelander (Anthony Gonzales), Charlie Jordan, Jacob Naranjo, Logan Naranjo and Andre Naranjo.

21 Great-Grandchildren: Jasmine Romero, Isabella Romero, Charleigh Steen, Hunter Romero, Alexis Kimber, Dathan Kimber, Maddox Lopez, Boston Lopez, Emma Villalobos, Sophia Villalobos, Myah Sosa, Jerzy Romero, Memphis Romero, Gerald Robles, William Holcomb, Elaina Karr, Mallory Karr, Royce Banuelas, Natalea Banuelas, Aubry Banuelas and Jaidyn Grace Gonzales.
