Iola Mae (Lobb) Spriggs, age 94, Died on Sunday, July 7, 2024, in Clayton, New Mexico.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at the Clayton Memorial Cemetery in Clayton, New Mexico with Rev. Billy Rammage officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Hass Funeral Home in Clayton. Arrangements are under the direction of Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton, New Mexico.

Iola Mae (Lobb) Spriggs was born on August 8, 1928, in Sedan, New Mexico to William Henry Lobb and Edith Mae (Bean) Lobb. Iola married Floyd Raymond Spriggs on May 20, 1948, at the Baptist parsonage in Clayton, New Mexico and he preceded her in death on December 15, 1993. Iola lived most of her life in Union County, living five years in Pueblo, Colorado and about five years in Colorado Springs, Colorado then returning to Union County. Iola was a quiet lady and enjoyed being at home. In her younger years she enjoyed painting, and she was an animal lover, she would take in injured or abandoned small animals and nurse them back to health and then release them. In addition to her husband and parents, Iola was preceded in death by 1 son, Karl Spriggs on October 6, 2021, and by 9 brothers and sisters, two at birth, Reuben Lobb, Charlie Lobb, Pearl Erikson, Grace Pennock, Opal Martichuski, Jacob Lobb and Joseph Lobb, and a nephew, Ronald Lee Spriggs.

SURVIVORS:

1 SON: Bill Spriggs of Clayton, New Mexico.

3 GRANDSONS: Ricky Myers and his wife Debbie of Wheeless, Oklahoma, Michael Myers and his wife Kathleen of Clayton, New Mexico and Justin Spriggs of Florida.

6 GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN: Nichole Myers, Alyssa Myers, Aralyn Myers, Kyle Myers, Kayla Myers and Korbin Myers.

1 GREAT-GREAT-GRANDSON: Brandon Myers.

Several nieces and nephews including, James Lobb, Jacob Lobb, Allen Laughter, Allen Goad, Johnny Goad and Edith Dickinson.

2 SISTERS-IN-LAW: Cleona Spriggs and Edna Spriggs.
