Iris R. Anstine, age 82, died Saturday, November 12, 2011 in Clayton, New Mexico.

Funeral services were held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, November 19, 2011 at Hass Funeral Home in Clayton with Rev. Billy Rammage, pastor of the First Baptist Church in Clayton, officiating. Burial followed in the Clayton Memorial Cemetery by Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton.

Iris (Rainwater) Anstine was born on June 24, 1929 in Clayton, New Mexico to Bee Rainwater and Irene (Stubblefield) Rainwater. Iris graduated from Clayton High School in 1948. She worked for the telephone company for three years. Iris married James L. "Jim" Anstine on October 10, 1953 in Albuquerque, New Mexico and he preceded her in death on July 19, 1997. They lived in Albuquerque until 1990 when they returned to make their home in Clayton. Iris was preceded in death by her parents and by 3 brothers; Wayne Rainwater, Lloyd Quinton Rainwater and John R. Rainwater.

2 NEPHEWS: Robert Rainwater and his wife Sandy of Hubert, North Carolina and Melvin Rainwater of California.

1 NIECE: Joyce Culbert and her husband Dee of Texline, Texas.

MEMORIALS: The family suggests that memorials be made to the Clayton Senior Citizens Center or to Clayton Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
