Isabel Augustina (Navarro) Vigil, age 82, died on Friday, June 9, 2023, in Mosquero, New Mexico.

Rosary will be recited at 10:30 AM on Friday, June 16, 2023, and Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Mosquero, New Mexico with Fr. Chris Martinez as celebrant. Burial will follow in the Mosquero Cemetery by Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton, New Mexico.

Isabel Augustina (Navarro) Vigil was born on May 26, 1941, in Mosquero, New Mexico to Alejandro Navarro and Aurora (Griego) Navarro. Isabel taught for 15 years in the Oklahoma Panhandle where she taught 13 immigrant children to read and speak English. She was an avid quilter and crafter and she loved to teach others how to quilt and craft. Isabel married Rafael O. Vigil on August 21, 1960. They had been married for 63 years. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Mosquero, New Mexico and The Legion of Mary. In addition to her parents, Isabel was preceded in death by a brother, Freddie Navarro.

HUSBAND: Rafael O. Vigil of Mosquero, New Mexico.

4 CHILDREN: Wilfred Vigil and Janie of Amarillo, Texas, Armando Vigil and Debbie Mosher of Garden City, Kansas and Ray Vigil and Christina and Terri Thrasher and Pat all of Mosquero, New Mexico.

10 Grandchildren, 16 Great-Grandchildren and 2 Great-Great-Grandchildren.
