Jack Akin, age 97, Died on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, in Jordan, New Mexico.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, June 20, 2025, at the Browning Cemetery in Jordan, New Mexico.
Jack Akin was born on June 7, 1928, in Jordan, New Mexico to Al Akin and Hazel H. (Knapp) Akin. He graduated from House High School. Jack married Nina B. (Head) Akin on October 23, 1946, in House, New Mexico and she preceded him in death on April 27, 2009. Jack was a member of the Civil Air Patrol and the International Flying Farmers. He was a reserve officer for New Mexico Game and Fish and a Quay County Sheriff's Department Special Deputy. Jack served on the House School Board. He started the Jordan Fire Department and served as the Fire Chief for many years. He loved hunting and was a highly decorated marksman with both pistol and rifle. Jack was very active in his community.

2 SONS: Brant Akin and his wife Christine of Dalhart, Texas and Phillip Akin and his wife Terry of Bushland, Texas.
DAUGHTER: Janina Akin and David Davila of Truth or Consequences, New Mexico.
3 Grandchildren: Shelly Heizer and her husband Mark, Alex Akin and his wife Tiffany and Zac Akin.
5 Great-Grandchildren: Anita Weyer, Alica Weyer, Ben Weyer, Braxton Akin and Ryker Akin.
3 Great-Great-Grandchildren: Texas Lindsey, Hazel Lindsey and Jagger Lindsey.
SISTER: Mary Lou Henson of Amarillo, Texas.
2 NEPHEWS: Jerry Henson and Verle Henson
