Jack Raines, age 74, died Friday, April 12, 2013 at his home in Clayton, New Mexico.

Rosary was recited at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, April 17, by Deacon P. Louis Montoya and Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 10:00 AM on Thursday, April 18, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Clayton, New Mexico with Fr. Glenn Jones, Celebrant. Burial followed in the Clayton Memorial Cemetery by Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton, New Mexico.

Jack Raines was born on May 25, 1938 in Clayton, New Mexico to William Amos Raines, Sr. And Bonnie Wyona (Henry) Raines. As a teenager he worked share cropping, feeding cattle, driving a wheat truck, hauling shocks of grain, fixing fences and anything else there was to do on farms or ranches in the area. Jack was a 1956 graduate of Clayton High School and joined the Marine Corp after graduation. Jack and Lupe were married in Albuquerque, New Mexico in 1968. Jack worked at KNME-TV as a photographer for 11 ½ years. Other jobs included proprietor for UNM Art Museum, Deputy Marshall at Red River, Police Officer and Municipal Judge in Clayton and a security guard in Los Lunas. He was self-employed as a professional photographer for several years. Jack's lifelong passion was nature photographybut he also enjoyed gardening and woodworking as hobbies. Jack was preceded in death by his parents, a brother; Bill Raines, Jr, and a sister; Sarah Ann Sears.

WIFE: Lupe Raines of Clayton, New Mexico.

2 SONS: Michael Raines and John Raines of Clayton, New Mexico.

1 SISTER: Beverly Skiles and her husband James of Clayton, New Mexico.

1 BROTHER-IN-LAW: Narciso Sanchez

GRANDCHILDREN: Christian Raines, Devon Raines, Ghabriel Raines and also Lucas Gallegos who was like another grandson to him.

GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN: Isaiah Raines and Annalicia Hensley.

And many nieces, nephews and friends.

MEMORIALS: The family asks that memorials be made in lieu of flowers to the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church CCD Building Fund in Clayton, New Mexico.
