James Curtis Pugh, Jr. Age 90, died on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, in Clayton, New Mexico.
Cremation has taken place, and no services are scheduled at this time. Arrangements are under the direction of Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton, New Mexico.
James C. Pugh, Jr. was born on August 18, 1935, in California to James C. Pugh, Sr. and Kathleen (Beauchamp) Pugh. As a young boy, he lived in Marshall, Texas. He was raised in Austin, Texas and attended the University of Texas where he studied art and he was a lifelong Longhorn supporter. Jim was a commercial artist for many years in Dallas, Texas and he was an avid fisherman and hunter. He possessed a comic personality and loved to joke and loved to make people laugh, he was always a lot of fun. He will be missed by his family and many friends and was loved by all who knew him. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, by a sister, Florence Ann Hixon and by 2 daughters, Dianne Elizabeth (Pugh) Janacek and Allison Lee Pugh.
SURVIVORS:
His wife of 67 years, Jenny Lee (Jones) Pugh of Capulin, New Mexico.
1 daughter, Susan Pugh of Providence Village, Texas.
1 son, James McChristman "Chris" Pugh of DeSoto, Texas.
3 grandsons, Justin Janacek and his wife Sandi and 3 great-granddaughters, Ryan Preston and his wife Windy and 3 great-granddaughters, Curtis Preston and his wife Natalie and 2 great-granddaughters.
3 granddaughters, Delia Stone and her husband Daniel and 2 great-granddaughters, Sherry Lee Halbroth and husband Alexander and 3 great-grandsons and Alyssa Sloan Pugh.
And many good friends.
