John Luther, age 72, died on Friday July 10, 2020 in Amarillo, Texas.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, July 14, 2020 at the Texline Baptist Church in Texline, Texas with Rev. Billy Rammage officiating. Burial will follow in the Stratford Cemetery in Stratford, Texas at 12:30 PM by Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton, New Mexico.

John Luther was born on March 9, 1948 in Stratford, Texas to Henry Clay Luther and Dollie Josephine (Spruell) Luther. He married Karen (Gupton) Luther in Clayton, New Mexico in 1970. John worked as a Butcher for his brother Carl at the Sunray Locker in Sunray, Texas for several years and then in 1983 John and Karen moved to Texline and opened Texline Meat Processing where John built a very successful family business from the ground up. John enjoyed working and keeping his yard up and helping people in need. John was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters, Mary Lee Cox and Emma Jean Goodwin, 1 brother, Carl Luther and a daughter-in-law, Tammy Asher.

WIFE: Karen Luther of Texline, Texas.

1 DAUGHTER: Christina Hidalgo and her husband Richard of Clayton, New Mexico.

3 SONS: William Luther and his wife Heather and Phillip Luther and his wife Misty all of Texline, Texas and Lonnie Asher of Kansas.
