John McVey passed away October 11, 2025 in Amarillo VA nursing home.

John McVey was born and raised in Pennsylvania. His personal goal was Philippians 3:10, "That I might know Him (Jesus)." He was a retired US Army veteran and a graduate of New Mexico Military Institute and Liberty University. He lived in Clayton for several years before moving to Amarillo. After leaving Clayton,he was the founder and former CEO of Cornplanter Communications and a licensed minister. He was the author of two books, Cities of Refuge, and Twisted Boaz. Both books arelisted on Amazon, Christian Book Discount, and Ebay. He was a member of a Christian motorcycle group and made a trip with them to California and back.

He was a faithful and active member of the Christian Heritage Church in Amarillo and was involved in several of their ministries including their ministry to the homeless. He stayed very busy until his health failed. His daughter, Heather, looked after him until he entered the nursing home in May of this year.

He was preceded in death by a grandson, Danny Wallace.

He is survived by 3 sons: Sean McVey and his wife Sarah, Michael McVey, and Patrick McVey, by his daughter, Heather Wallace and her husband Gregory

By three grandchildren Abigail and Alexander McVey and Andrew Wallace,

by the mother of his children, Kyp McVey,

by two sisters and a brother.
