John Oliver Spriggs, age 94, died Wednesday, April 17, 2013 in Sun City, California.
Funeral Services were held on Saturday, April 20, 2013 at Browns Evans Mortuary and he was interred in Paris Cemetery.
John Oliver Spriggs was born on October 12, 1918 at the family home west of Clayton, New Mexico. John worked on several farms around Clayton before World War II, and during the war worked for Boeing Aircraft in California. He came back to Clayton after the war to work for Bob Lawrence at the auto body shop south of the Ethridge Chevrolet building, which is a parking lot now. In 1957, John and his brother Emery Spriggs moved to Big Piney, Wyoming to work on a natural gas pump station. John retired there, while Emery moved to a New Mexico gas pump station. After retiring, John moved to Sun City, California, where family of his wife Maxine (Leaton) Spriggs were located. After Maxine passed away, her niece Sharon Caruso stayed with John until he passed away. Sharon took good care of John and drove him to all of the Spriggs' reunions in Albuquerque. The family appreciates her care. John was preceded in death by his wife and parents; and three brothers, George Emery Spriggs, Millard Ernest Spriggs and Floyd Raymonf Spriggs and a son Ronald Lee Spriggs who died as a baby.

1 DAUGHTER: Peggy Joan Staytabaugh.
3 GRANDCHILDREN: Erick, Justin and Jennifer.

1 BROTHER: Lester Lowell Spriggs.
1 SISTER: Lenore Olive (Spriggs) Laughter Foster.
3 Clayton Nephews: Harold Allen Laughter, William "Bill" Spriggs and Karl Stanley Spriggs.
