Kathy Rice, age 75, died on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at her home in Texline, Texas.

Cremation has taken place, and the family will have a grave side service at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton.

Kathy Rice was born on September 2, 1949, in Hot Springs, South Dakota to Charlie Eyre and Gladys (Owens) Eyre. She lived most of her life in the Texline area. Kathy worked at the Western Hills Motel in Texline for several years until they closed and then she worked for PSF Hog Farms for several more years. She was preceded in death by her parents.

1 DAUGHTER: Candy Murdock and her husband Justin of Texline, Texas.

1 SON: Shawn Rice and his wife Jesica of Canyon, Texas.

2 GRANDCHILDREN: Troy Green and his wife Samantha and Lavette Romero and her husband Charlie.

9 GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN: Daniel, Christy, Sammy, Troy, John, Jasmine, Charleigh, Bella and Hunter
