Lelia Juanita Cordova, age 89, died on Thursday, May 13, 2021 at her home in Clayton, New Mexico.

Rosary will be recited at 2:00 PM on Friday, May 21, 2021 and Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 2:30 PM at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Clayton, New Mexico with Fr. Jason Pettigrew as celebrant. Burial will follow in the Clayton Memorial Cemetery by Hass Funeral Home of Clayton, New Mexico.

Lelia Juanita Cordova was born on April 6, 1932 in Barney, New Mexico to Enocencio and Adelia Sanchez. A lifelong resident of Union County, Lelia married John Nestor Cordova on November 23, 1953 in Clayton and he preceded her in death on April 13, 1985. Lelia babysat for over 200 children over the years since her husband died and was a caretaker to many people that were down and out. She was a very selfless person and always looked out for every body else, many people were touched by her monetary gifts. Lelia was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church and her faith was very important to her. In addition to her husband and parents, Lelia was preceded in death by 3 daughters; Esperanza, Patricia Matilda and Patricia Inez, 3 brothers, Eloy Sanchez, Raymond Sanchez and Daniel Sanchez, 3 sisters, Beatrice Martinez, Adelina Armijo and Gloria Espinoza, 5 brothers-in-law, Agapito Cordova, Manuel Martinez, Arthur Armijo, Joe Montano and Charles Espinoza, 2 sisters-in-law, Flora Sanchez and Sharran Sanchez, a daughter-in-law, Lahoma Cordova, mother-in-law, Adolfinia Cordova  and an uncle, Jose Salazar.

3 DAUGHTERS: Clara Sandoval and her husband Manuel of Guymon, Oklahoma, Dora Cloud and her husband Jerry of Clayton, New Mexico and Vangie Herrera and her husband Orlando of Goodwell, Oklahoma.

2 SONS: Robert Cordova of Clayton, New Mexico and John Cordova and his wife Betty of Mountain Park, Oklahoma.

12 GRANDCHILDREN: Manuel R. Sandoval, Marcos Sandoval, John Cloud, Jessica Dodson and husband Pat, Jeremy Cloud and wife Ariana, Jayson Cloud and Brittney Elliott, O. J. Herrera and wife Jeremie, Joseph Herrera and wife Randall, Adrian Herrera and wife Tasha, Kyle Cordova, Alexann Cordova and Eric Cordova.

21 GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN: Roman Sandoval, Maranda Arguello, Mackenzy Christie, Johnna Cloud, Rhett Bo Cloud, Patrick Dodson, Allison Dodson, Kassidy Cloud, Aiden Wilkerson, Delilah Wilkerson, Brantley Cloud, Asa Cloud, Jagger Cloud, Seth Mayer, Ryder Herrera, Oakley Herrera, Kennedy Herrera, Reagan Herrera, Jackson Herrera, Rylinn Herrera and Liberty Elliott.

3 SISTERS: Teresina Montano of Clayton, New Mexico, Eloise Sisneros and her husband George of Aztec, New Mexico and Carmel Sisneros and her husband Johnny of Dalhart, Texas.

2 BROTHERS: Bennie Sanchez of Clayton, New Mexico and Eloy Gonzalez and his wife Gloria of Denver, Colorado.
