Lena Wanita (Wiseman) Elam, age 92, died on Monday, January 13, 2020.

Graveside services were held at 2:00 PM on Friday, January 17, 2020 at the Grenville Cemetery in Grenville, New Mexico with Rev. Billy Rammage officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton, New Mexico.

Lena Wanita (Wiseman) Elam was born on October 9, 1927 in the family home near Grenville, New Mexico to Cromwell Wiseman and Daisy (Parks) Wiseman. Lena lived in the Grenville area until 1999 when she moved in with her son in Dalhart due to health reasons. Lena married Olan Elam on April 24, 1944 in Roy, New Mexico and he preceded her in death on May 17, 1999. In addition to her husband, Lena was preceded in death by her parents and by a daughter, Linda DeAugero and a son, Billy Joe Elam.

SURVIVORS:

5 SONS: Buck Elam of Las Vegas, New Mexico, O. J. Elam of Texline, Texas, Henry Elam of Dalhart, Texas, Herman Elam of Guymon, Oklahoma and Bruce Elam of Hardesty, Oklahoma.

2 DAUGHTERS: Bonnie Cabral of Lincoln, California and Bertha Badillo of Amarillo, Texas.

2 BROTHERS: David Wiseman of Clayton, New Mexico and Bill Wiseman of Grenville, New Mexico.

5 SISTERS: Delorse Wiseman and Lois Fay Good both of Amarillo, Texas, Evelyn Quintana and Betty Oldham both of Folsom, New Mexico and Georgia McCarty of Clayton, New Mexico.

14 Grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
