Manuel (Manny) Romero, Jr. Age 40, a devoted husband, father, son, brother, uncle, mentor and friend passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, October 21, 2021 in a traffic accident in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 29th from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Mesa Church, 917 S. 2nd Street in Raton, New Mexico.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 30th at the Raton High School Gymnasium, 1535 Tiger Circle in Raton, New Mexico. Arrangements are under the direction of Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton, New Mexico.
Manny was born on September 6, 1981 to Manuel and Josephine Romero in Raton, New Mexico. He married his life long best friend in March of 2010. He started working for Kiewit in 2010 and quickly became a foreman with the company and they moved to Albuquerque in 2013 to better support their family. Manny was a hard worker and strived for perfection in every thing that he did. He was highly respected in his field and within the company. Manny was an avid sports fan, he loved watching and playing sports, including golf. He loved his Yankees, 49ers and Nuggets, he also loved to play softball, he played all of his life and would participate in every tournament that he could along with his Stixx teammates. Manny was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather Levi Romero and maternal grandfather Joe L. Martinez and his aunt Theresa A. King.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife RaeLynn and his children Mariah, Alexi, Mason and Aaric. His mother Josephine, father Manuel, sisters, Jessica Sloan of Las Vegas, Nevada, Charmaine Romero of Trinidad, Colorado, Chantel Romero of Raton, New Mexico and Joslin Romero of Denver, Colorado. Mother-in-law Sandra Yob, Father-in-law Randy Butt, Brother-in-law Jacob Butt of Raton, New Mexico, Sister-in-law Randall Herrera and her husband Joseph of Raton, New Mexico, his grandmother Lupe Martinez and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Special friends to serve as pallbearers are: Adam (Bomb) Chavez, Joseph (Leno) Duran, Eric (Chili) Ortega, Albert (Bert) Ortiz, John (Dinger) Martinez, Matthew (Matt) Gonzales, Kevin Hoy, Justin Marchiondo, Jacob (Bubba) Trujillo, David (Swizzy) Martinez an Jeremy (Tree) Trujillo.
