Marcella Maria Madrid, age 85, died on Saturday, October 16, 2021 in Amarillo, Texas.

Rosary will be recited at 7:00 PM Central Time on Thursday, October 21st at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Texline, Texas. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM Central Time on Friday, October 22nd at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Texline, Texas. Burial will follow in the Clayton Memorial Cemetery in Clayton, New Mexico. Arrangements are under the direction of Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton, New Mexico.

Marcella Maria (Cruz) Madrid was born on February 20, 1936 in Clayton, New Mexico, the daughter of Raymond and Ida (Perea) Cruz. A lifelong resident of Clayton, Marcella married Julian P. "Billy" Madrid on March 23, 1957 in Clayton, New Mexico and he preceded her in death on November 19, 2018. Marcella was a very good cook and loved to sing and was well known for her whistling and in her younger years she was very good at fast pitch. She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Clayton. In addition to her husband, Marcella was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Ida Cruz; brother, Lawrence Cruz; and sisters, Angie Martinez, Lena Cruz and Cathy Segovia.

SURVIVORS:

5 DAUGHTERS: Mary Angel and her husband Mario of Las Vegas, Nevada, Debbie Meyer of Topeka, Kansas, Julia Gonzales and her husband Clarence of Guymon, Oklahoma, Rosella Gallegos and her husband Joseph of Lafayette, North Carolina and Jessica Dunn and her husband Kevin of Clayton, New Mexico.

1 SON: Julian Madrid of Clayton, New Mexico.

7 GRANDCHILDREN: Jeremy Angel, Jeffrey Angel, Victor Gallegos, Patricia Gallegos, Joseph Gallegos, Jr., Bridget Leighnor and Clarence Gonzales, Jr.

11 Great-Grandchildren: Damian McCord, Heaven McCord, Serenity McCord, Aurora Dunn, Castiel Dunn, Triton Dunn, Dylan Leighnor, Quinn Leighnor, Lennon Leighnor, Julian Henley Leighnor & Angela Gallegos.

2 SISTERS: Martha Cruz and Ernestine Cruz both of Guymon, Oklahoma.

3 BROTHERS: Joe Cruz and his wife Dot of Guymon, Oklahoma and Frank Cruz and his wife Donna and Raymond Cruz Jr. all of Amarillo Texas.

And numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
