Mary Lou Hutcheson, age 91, died on Friday, March 22, 2024, in Clayton, New Mexico.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Central Time on Friday, March 29, 2024, at the Texline Methodist Church in Texline, Texas with Rev. Jeff Bayley officiating. Burial will follow in the Texline Cemetery by Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton, New Mexico.
Mary Lou Hutcheson was born April 26, 1932, in Woodward, Oklahoma. She graduated from Clayton High School in 1949 and married Wayne Wilson in March of 1948. Her parents were Alfred and Sylvia Ballentine. Her mother died when she was born so she was raised by aunt and uncle Edward and Alta Leighton in Espanola, New Mexico then in Clapham, New Mexico. She lived by herself in Clayton since it was difficult to get to school in Clapham. Throughout her entire life she loved God whole heartedly. She would help anyone in need. She rarely missed Sunday Church Services. She worked for the US Post Office delivering mail to the rural areas. She loved making floral arrangements and working on weddings for family and friends. Her passion was teaching Sunday School and substitute teaching at the Texline school. Later on in life she met and married Jack Hutcheson after the death of her first husband. She lived with her daughter Candace and her husband in Texline after the death of her husband Jack. She was preceded in death by her parents and by her husband's Wayne Wilson and Jack Hutcheson.
SURVIVORS:
1 DAUGHTER: Candace Martinez and her husband Daniel of Texline, Texas.
1 GRANDDAUGHTER: Darinda Bergeron and her husband Jerry of Lubbock, Texas and their children, Kloi, Kenadi, Kristian.
1 GRANDSON: Daniel Martinez and his wife Delena of Tuscola, Texas and their children, Kye and Kinley.
And many nieces, nephews and friends she counted as family.
MEMORIALS: The family asks that in lieu of flowers, make donations in Mary Lou's memory to the Texline Fire Department and EMS Responders.
