Mary Grace (Marquez) Martinez, 86, returned to her heavenly home on March 2, 2018 at the Southwest Medical Center in Liberal Kansas, surrounded by her family after a valiant battle with a long illness. Her devotion to her family and her firm belief in God supported her in her struggle and ultimately gave her peace.
A Rosary Service was held at the St. Frances Cabrini Church in Beaver, Oklahoma on March 8, at 7:00 P.M.
Funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Clayton, New Mexico on Saturday March 10, at 10:00 A.M. Burial followed in the Clayton Memorial Cemetery by Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton. A reception followed at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church Parish Hall.
Mary Grace Martinez was born June 1, 1931 in Des Moines, New Mexico, to Juan F. and Maria Clarita (Garcia) Marquez. She attended high school and she was a homemaker all her life. She has been a resident of Beaver County, Oklahoma since 1965. Mary was a member of the St. Frances Church. She married Joe Martinez in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Mary was blessed with a large and loving family. She was married 56 years to her best friend, Joe F. Martinez. The family settled in Beaver, Oklahoma in 1965. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Elmer and Nash; her parents; and her daughter, Debbie Hefner.

HUSBAND: Joe Martinez of Beaver, Oklahoma.
3 SONS: Ernest Martinez and his wife Kimberly of Yucca Valley, California, Richard Martinez and his wife Kristen of Beaver, Oklahoma and Joe Martinez, Jr and his wife Yolanda of Turpin, Oklahoma.
2 DAUGHTERS: Josephine Henry of Amarillo, Texas and Betty Sisk of Hereford, Texas.
15 grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
4 BROTHERS: Norbert Marquez of Clayton, New Mexico, John Marquez of Dumas, Texas, Joe Marquez of Des Moines, New Mexico and Ben Joe Marquez of Dalhart, Texas.
