Mary Viola Garcia, age 69, died Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at her home in Clayton.
Rosary was recited at 7:00 PM on Thursday, October 25 by Deacon P. Louis Montoya and Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Friday, October 26, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Clayton, New Mexico with Fr. Glenn Jones, Celebrant. Burial will follow in the Clayton Memorial Cemetery by Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton, New Mexico.
Mary Viola Garcia was born on April 27, 1943 in Clayton, New Mexico to Juan B. Gallegos and Cleofas Sanchez. A lifelong resident of Clayton, New Mexico, she started working at the courthouse when she was fourteen years old and attended Business School in Colorado after she graduated from Clayton High School in 1961. Viola worked for Clayton Title Service and later for C. U. Title Service for many years. She married Johnny Garcia on September 10, 1984 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Viola was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Clayton and she was a care giver to many of her family members. Viola was preceded in death by her parents and by numerous aunts and uncles.
