Obituary

Nyle Weese, age 91, died Friday, September 23, 2011 in Dalhart, Texas.

Funeral Services were held at 10:00 AM on Monday, September 26, 2011 at the First Baptist Church in Clayton, New Mexico with Rev. Billy Rammage, pastor officiating. Burial will followed in the Grenville Cemetery in Grenville, New Mexico by Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton, New Mexico.

Nyle Weese was born on January 20, 1920 to Benjamin Frank Weese and Bertha Mae (Jones) Weese in Buffalo, Oklahoma. The family moved to the Grenville area where they homesteaded in a dugout in the Blind Gap area and Nyle attended school in Grenville. He married Golda Arlene (Scott) Weese in Albuquerque, New Mexico in January of 1944. They lived in Albuquerque for a year before returning to the Grenville and Capulin area and in 1961 they moved to Clayton. Nyle worked most of his life as a truck driver and could fix anything. In addition to his parents, Nyle was preceded in death by 2 sons; Garry Weese on January 27, 2008 and Alan Weese on October 11, 2006, 1 daughter; Karen Weese as an infant, a great-grandson, Caleb Kear on May 24, 2006, a brother; Harold Weese, a sister; Wanda June Pitts, a brother-in-law; Ed Pitts and by a son-in-law; Wallace Mitchell on September 14, 2011.

SURVIVORS:

2 DAUGHTERS: Cheryl Mitchell of Clayton, New Mexico and Shirley Bates and her husband David of Rio Rancho, New Mexico.

1 SON: Kevin Weese and his wife Rhonda of Dalhart, Texas.

1 BROTHER: Melvin Weese of Clayton, New Mexico.

1 SISTER: Vada Crist of Amarillo, Texas.

12 Grandchildren

18 Great-Grandchildren

And numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

MEMORIALS: The family suggests that memorials be made to the Caleb Kear Memorial Scholarship Fund care of the Farmers and Stockmans bank in Clayton, New Mexico.
