Funeral Services were held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, April 11, 2013 at the First Baptist Church in Clayton, New Mexico with Rev. Billy Rammage, retired pastor, officiating. Burial followed in the Clayton Memorial Cemetery by Hass Funeral Directors in Clayton, New Mexico.

Ray Long was born on July 3, 1957 in Clayton, New Mexico to Bill Long and Doris Rock. He was raised by his mother and step-father Doris (Rock) Feerer and Clyde B. "Butch" Feerer in Texline, Texas. Ray graduated from Texline High School in 1975 and joined the US Army where he served until 1978. He returned to Texline where he married Bobbie (Jones) Long on July 14, 1978. They made their home in Texline and later moved to Clayton. In 1995 Karley came into their life and she was the light of Ray's life. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Clayton, New Mexico. Ray was preceded in death by his step-father; Butch Feerer in 1985, his mother; Doris Feerer in 2011, his father Bill Long in 2012 and by a step-brother; Wendell Feerer.

SURVIVORS:

WIFE: Bobbie Long of Clayton, New Mexico.

1 DAUGHTER: Karley Long of Clayton, New Mexico.

5 BROTHERS: John Long and his wife Sandy of Canadian, Texas, Bob Long and his wife Judy of Nara Visa, New Mexico, Rex Long of Houston, Texas, Denny Feerer and his wife Carla of Los Lunas, New Mexico and Steven Feerer of Homer, Alaska.

1 SISTER-IN-LAW: Linda Ward and her husband Greg of Texline, Texas.

1 AUNT: Renee Rinestine and her husband James of Nara Visa, New Mexico.

And several nieces and nephews.

MEMORIALS: The family suggests that memorials be made in Ray's memory to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
