Richard B. Sintas, age 78, died Wednesday, June 26, 2013, in Clayton, New Mexico.

Rosary and Funeral Mass was held at 9:30 A.M. Monday, July 1, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Clayton with Fr. Glenn Jones, pastor, officiating. Burial was in the Clayton Memorial Cemetery by Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton.

Richard B. Sintas was born on April 3, 1935 in Capulin, New Mexico to Ricardo Sintas and Margarita (Salazar) Sintas. He graduated from Clayton High School in 1953 and joined the US Army. Richard married Evelyn M. (Trujillo) Sintas on April 3, 1959 in Clayton, New Mexico and she preceded him in death on December 23, 2002. Richard was a lifelong resident of Clayton, New Mexico and was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. He worked for several years in Kansas and in Boise City, Oklahoma for Corky Emler pulling broom corn before going to work for Gold Star Mail Services where he worked for 32 years. In addition to his wife and parents, Richard was preceded in death by 2 sisters; Nellie Martinez and Adeline Mestas and 3 brothers; Alberto Sintas, Tilio Sintas and Eloy Sintas.

SURVIVORS:

3 DAUGHTERS: Teri Mansfield and her husband Pete and Connie Johnson and her husband Jason all of Clayton, New Mexico and Espy Elliott and her husband Scott of Las Cruces, New Mexico.

2 SONS: Chris Sintas and his wife Sylvia of Stanley, Virginia, and James Sintas of Clayton, New Mexico.

3 SISTERS: Dolores Ulibari and Helen Sintas both of Clayton, New Mexico and Rachel Quintana of Greeley, Colorado.

1 BROTHER: J. B. Sintas and his wife Celina of Spearman, Texas.

5 GRANDCHILDREN: James Elliott, Dustin Sintas, Kristin Sintas, Timothy Sintas AND Kaitlyn Hyer.

1 STEP-GRANDDAUGHTER: Erica Bleeker.
