Santiago Martinez, age 99, died on Saturday, June 25, 2022.

Rosary will be recited at 9:30 AM on Wednesday, June 29, 2022, and Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 AM at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Clayton, New Mexico with Fr. Joseph Baltz as celebrant. Burial will follow in the Clayton Memorial Cemetery by Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton, New Mexico.

Santiago Martinez was born on May 18, 1923, in Miera, New Mexico to Procopio Martinez and Emilia (Padilla) Martinez. Santiago lived all of his life in Union and Harding Counties where he ranched all of his life. He loved his family, and they were all very special to him. He also loved ranching and he loved his cows. Santiago was preceded in death by his parents and by a sister, Victoria Maes and 6 brothers, Higino Martinez, Max Martinez, J.B. Martinez, Leopoldo Martinez, Manuel Martinez and Procopio Martinez, Jr.

SURVIVORS:

1 SON: Gene Martinez and his wife Rebecca of Clayton, New Mexico.

6 GRANDCHILDREN: Norma Endres of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Gene Martinez, Rory Martinez and his girlfriend Lori Valdez and Sean Martinez and his wife Ashlee all of Clayton, New Mexico, Sandra Martinez of Maryland and James D. Martinez and his wife Tracy of Lubbock, Texas.

And numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
