Susan Hale, age 72, died Thursday, April 16, 2026 in Clayton, New Mexico.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, April 25, 2026 at Hass Funeral Home in Clayton with Pastor Kenneth W. Tidmore, pastor of the Clayton Methodist Church, officiating.

Susan Hale was born on July 28, 1953, in Jackson, Mississippi to Leon Dearman and Eulalla (McDaniel) Cannon. She lived in Mississippi until her family moved to Clovis, New Mexico where she graduated from Clovis High School. Susan later moved to Ruidoso, New Mexico where she worked as an artist. One of her favorite jobs was painting the sculptures around Ruidoso Downs. Susan was preceded in death by her parents and by a sister.

Susan is survived by two sons, Joe Hale and Katie of Washington State and Travis Hale and Davida of Sedan, New Mexico and by 2 granddaughters, Josie Hale and Riley Burch.
