Tom E. Smith, age 82 of Weatherford, Texas, died on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, in Fort Worth, Texas.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, October 31, 2023, at the Clayton Memorial Cemetery in Clayton, New Mexico with Pastor Kenneth W. Tidmore, pastor of the Clayton Methodist Church officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton, New Mexico.

Tom E. Smith was born on September 8, 1941, in Ada, Oklahoma to Orba Otho Smith and Sadie Opal (Dodd) Smith. Tom graduated from MacMurray College and then from Seminary school at SMU. Tom served as a United Methodist Minister for most of his life and he also worked for El Paso Natural Gas Company.  Tom married Helen (Musser) Smith on September 10, 1961, in Tucumcari, New Mexico and she preceded him in death on October 23, 2019. In addition to his wife and parents, Tom was preceded in death by his son Everett Paul Smith, 2 sons-in-law: Jason Edward Winsett and Jeff Wise and 2 brothers, Don L. Smith and Kelly Smith.

SURVIVORS:

2 DAUGHTERS: Karen Delene Winsett of Weatherford, Texas and Susan Noelle Wise of Fort Worth, Texas.

5 GRANDCHILDREN: Tyler Rose Smith, Johnathin Wolfe and his girlfriend Katy West, Sierra Wolfe, Thomas Carter Smith and Jaxon Wise.

5 GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN: Mason Shafer, Emberly Shafer, Able West, Alex West and Everleigh West and one on the way.

2 BROTHERS: Mike Smith of Newport News, Virginia and Max Smith of Eugene, Oregon.

2 SISTERS-IN-LAW: Jan Smith and Patty Smith both of Tucumcari, New Mexico.
