Verna Demgar, age 84, died Thursday, March 15, 2012 in Amarillo, Texas.

Cremation has taken place and the family will have a memorial service at 10:30 AM, Sunday, April 1, 2012 at the Clayton Gospel Church in Clayton, New Mexico with Pastor, Mike Phipps officiating.

Verna Louise (Marsh) Demgar was born on October 12, 1927 in Glassboro, New Jersey to Norman Benjamin Marsh and Sebe Luella (Hoxsie) Marsh. She graduated from Glassboro High School in 1945 and joined the United States Air Force in 1952. Verna was stationed at Ft. Dix in New Jersey and then Offuit Air Force Base in Omaha, Nebraska where she met and married Robert N. Demgar who was also serving in the United States Air Force. Verna loved serving her country and she worked for Boy Scouts of America in North Brunswick, New Jersey. She voulentered for the V. A. In Albuquerque for five years. Bob and Verna were married for fifty seven and a half years and she was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a good cook and a wonderful baker and she loved to collect recipes and cook books and do word search puzzles. In addition to her parents, Verna was preceded in death by a son, Roger Demgar on January 27, 2011 and by three children.

SURVIVORS:

HUSBAND: Robert N. Demgar of Clayton, New Mexico.

1 DAUGHTER: Norma Virginia Christy and her husband Terry Wayne of Independence, Kansas.

1 SON: Ronald Demgar and his wife Debbie of Goodyear, Arizona.

8 GRANDCHILDREN: Adam, Daniel, Rebekah, Micah, Rachel, Norman, Seth Sr. and Matthew.

15 GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN: Benjamin, Hannah, Dylan, Zacharaiah, Ariel, Gabriel, Abigail, Nikolas, Maranda, Mackenzie, Carlos, Nydia, Seth Jr. and Sarina.
