Vincent Pete Jimenez, age 62, died on Monday, February 24, 2025, in Amarillo, Texas.

Rosary will be recited at 9:30 AM on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Clayton, New Mexico. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 AM celebrated by Fr. Joji Konkala. Burial will follow in the Clayton Memorial Cemetery by Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton.

BACKGROUND: Vincent Pete Jimenez was born on November 28, 1962, in Colorado Springs, Colorado to Benjamin Fred Jimenez, Sr. and Francisca Julia (Martinez) Marquez. His father died when Vincent was only 6 months old and he was raised by his stepfather, Norbert Marquez. He attended Clayton schools and graduated from Clayton High School in 1981. Vincent attended New Mexico State University for five years where he played Division One basketball. He graduated in 1986 with a bachelor's degree in law and Society in Criminal Justice. He attended paralegal school in Denver and then returned to Albuquerque where he worked as a paralegal for the Albuquerque Public Defenders Office in the 1990's. He then started his own business, Accents in Natural Stone and Ceramics and he was a master tile setter. Vincent was also very good at plumbing and electrical work, was a skilled mechanic and enjoyed gardening and taking care of his chickens. He loved fishing and hunting and had appeared in an episode of Breaking Bad.

Vincent was preceded in death by his father, Benjamin Fred Jimenez, Sr., his stepfather, Norbert Marquez and by his grandparents, Pete and Juanita Martinez, Ramona Jimenez and Benjamin Fred Jimenez.

DAUGHTER: Isabella Jimenez of Albuquerque, New Mexico.

SON: Michael Rubio of Albuquerque, New Mexico.

MOTHER: Julia Marquez of Clayton, New Mexico.

2 BROTHERS: Benjamin Jimenez of Clayton, New Mexico and Anthony Marquez of Dalhart, Texas.

SISTER: Julie Marquez of Clayton, New Mexico.

GOD-DAUGHTER: Sherina Bickel and her husband Zack of Clayton, New Mexico.

GOD-PARENTS: Joe Martinez of Beaver, Oklahoma and Esther Lucero of Colorado Springs, Colorado.

And numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and other family and friends.
